Tips for a More Accessible Halloween

Oct 29, 2025

Easterseals Hawaii is helping families create a more inclusive Halloween where every keiki feels welcome. In a recent KHON2 segment, Board Member Tim Sakahara and Early Intervention Program Manager Iwalani Campman shared simple ways to make Halloween enjoyable and accessible for people of all abilities, such as ensuring walkways are easy to navigate and offering alternative treats and activities for those with developmental disabilities.

They also encouraged families to display blue or teal pumpkins and use Easterseals Hawaii’s Trick-or-Treat cards to signal a welcoming environment for all. These small gestures can transform Halloween into a celebration of community, kindness and connection, reminding us that it’s about more than candy and making sure everyone can join in the fun.
