Another Egg-cellent Fundraiser Leaving Hearts Full on Oahu

Diners chatting with ESH Adult Program participants before brunch. Longtime supporter Eggs ‘n Things once again hosted their annual dine-in fundraiser across their restaurants on Oahu for Autism Acceptance Month in April. General Manager, Michael Skedeleski, started volunteering with Easterseals Hawaii more than a decade ago and his dedication to our mission has continued ever since. Adult participants from Easterseals Hawaii’s Oahu centers joined the fun by hosting tables outside some of the restaurants to chat with diners and exemplify the importance of community integration.

This year, our fundraising results totaled $10,000 between generous diners throughout the month and a matching donation from Eggs ‘n Things. It’s community partnerships like these that reflect the community of Aloha we’re building across the state, Michael and the Saratoga team celebrating with ESH. and celebrate exactly why community integration for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities means so much for achieving real inclusion.

After inspiring the fundraising with some friendly competition between restaurant teams, the Saratoga location came out the winner and invited ESH participants and staff to a meet and greet at the restaurant. The participants brought handmade lei as thank-you gifts, and a special gift bag of ESH goodies to Stella, an Eggs ‘n Things employee who went above and beyond this year.

During April, ESH CEO Patrick Klein and Eggs ‘n Things GM Michael Skedeleski were featured on a KHON 2 segment highlighting this important partnership. Check it out below!
